I can’t describe how happy we are today after one year of operating and supporting Invoicebus. In one year of ups and downs, struggles and hustles we managed to finish our first year with positive news. After one year of working we have grown at stable pace with thousands of happy users, and I can’t tell anything but we’re very satisfied with the results.

For anybody who doesn’t know what Invoicebus is, I’ll give you short history about it:

• In October 2010 Stefan and Dimitar gathered together and started with brainstorming a product which will ease the creating and management of invoices.
• In November 2010 the development started and in meantime we put our teaser web page announcing the arriving of the “bus”.
• After one year of development and testing we launched our product on 30^th November 2011, and that is how Invoicebus was born from our ideas, creativity and hard work.
• Today we’re celebrating our first birthday.

As a young product this is a big achievement for us, and this motivates us even more to continue building Invoicebus in the future. We hope with the love and support of our users we’ll bring the invoicing closer to the everyday people, the freelancers and small businesses.

And what is a birthday without a surprise so we prepared one for you, just stayed tuned in the coming weeks. Oh, and if you don’t have account go on and create one, it’s completely free. Well I’m done for today and going to grab a piece of that cake and start partying

Invoicebus’ database servers are growing up! We’re super excited to announce the migration of our conventional MySQL database to Cloud Databases, a high performance database on the cloud that brings speed, redundancy and scalability as primary values.

Software Update

We’re introducing the real-time Activity History timeline. We believe that negotiating with your client in real time has a crucial meaning. Therefore, instead to wait notification in your inbox, we implemented a way for you and your client to be able to leave comments and track invoice’s activity in real-time. You can call it a live invoice because it looks like a sort of chat. Also, all other actions related to activity history will appear in real time.

This Monday we put something new, something fresh at https://invoicebus.com. If you look in the right bottom corner of your browser you’ll notice bar showing Live Support. Yes this is for real, now you can talk directly with the creators of Invoicebus, and get help directly from us. You can even just stop by and say hi, we really would like that. Here is preview of the chat window, but can go at Invoicebus and see for yourself:

We are using this wonderful open source live chat platform http://mibew.org, and so far we tested it and prove itself as one reliable and fast live support platform.

But the Live Support is not the only new thing at Invoicebus. As some of you already noticed we have slight improvements in other parts of Invoicebus like the new navigation bar at the top and the overall website copywriting. So let have a chit-chat and tell us what you think about that.

During the official test period we collected feedback from the first Invoicebus users. They gave great ideas and suggestions for improvement of Invoicebus, so we implemented some of those in this update.

The improvements are:

• Faster adding, editing, deleting of clients, items and taxes;
• Faster editing of your company info and terms & notes;
• Faster editing of default email, reminder and thank you note text;
• Faster loading of new/edit/duplicate invoice and quote;
• Faster saving of invoices and quotes;
• Invoices and quotes must have unique number;
• Tax is automatically selected after saving (when added as a new one);
• Item name is unique for every item (no duplicates allowed);
• In total sum tax value is displayed in brackets after tax name;
• Improved rollback after unsuccessful ajax call;
• Improved description and text in some parts of the web app and site;
• Improved and functional Upgrade/Pricing section of the web app and site;
• Better implementation of the trash.

The bug fixes are:

• Wrong automatic calculation of the time zone in activity history;
• Not adding entry in the activity history after quote is converted to invoice;
• Other minor bug fixes.
